The consular section reserves the right to refuse the legalization of any document based on Saudi government rules and regulations
EXPORT DOCUMENTS (COMMERCIAL SHIPMENTS ONLY)
1. Documents that are related to goods being shipped to Saudi Arabia are required to be attested by a local Canadian chamber of commerce or board of trade. This office only legalizes documents pertaining to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2. An export information sheet, E.I.S.,(form provided) must be completed fully and accurately, signed and stamped by the company preparing the form.
3. Documents that are required for any shipment to Saudi Arabia are not determined by the consular section, however every set of commercial documents for authentication must include at least a commercial invoice and a certificate of origin.
4. Covering letter revealing the nature of the documents and requesting the authentication.
5. Documents that are required to be authenticated must be arranged and labeled.
6. Copies of all documents are required for the consular section and must be presented attached to the completed EIS.
DOCUMENTS FOR PETS
Domestic cats and certain breeds of dogs only, are permitted into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Please provide the following documents:
1. A certificate pertaining to the details of the birth and ownership of the pet must be prepared and signed by your veterinarian.
2. A certificate of health from a veterinarian indicating that the pet has no communicable diseases or viruses and that the pet has been vaccinated against rabies and is up-to-date for all inoculations.
**Both of the above two documents MUST be stamped by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Legal Division.
3. Covering letter from the owner requesting the legalization and including the name of the owner’s employer in Saudi Arabia AND INCLUDING A COPY OF THE OWNER’S IQAMA (see samples at the bottom of the page).
4. An extra copy of each document for this office to retain.
OTHER DOCUMENTS
All other documents of (CANADIAN ISSUED ONLY):
1. A corporate or personal nature including business agreements
2. Patent registrations or applications
3. Powers of attorney (COPIES OF PASSPORTS)
4. Birth/marriage certificates (COPY OF PASSPORTS)
5. Letters of experience
6. Medical reports or school report cards
7. Pharmaceutical certificates, etc..
**The document MUST be stamped FIRST by the Legal Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
**Extra copies of all documents must be attached to your covering letter requesting the legalization, and including the name of your Saudi employer/client/TMP agent or explaining your status in the Kingdom. ANY INDIVIDUAL SENDING DOCUMENTS FOR FAMILY OR FRIENDS MUST SEND A COPY OF THEIR SAUDI VISA OR IQAMA (RESIDENCE PERMIT).
DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS (CANADIAN ISSUED ONLY)
1. MUST be stamped by the Legal Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada (DFATD).
2. Must be stamped by The Saudi Cultural Bureau in Ottawa (SCB). (New requirement)
The SCB requires a set of original transcripts in an envelope sealed by the issuing institution in order to certify the degree.
3. Extra copies of all documents must be attached to your covering letter requesting the legalization.
If you do not already have a job in Saudi Arabia and are seeking employment in Saudi Arabia and wish to legalize CANADIAN ONLY university degrees or diplomas, you MUST send a copy of a job offer from a firm/company in Saudi Arabia signed and stamped by the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce. If you are already an iqama holder, working in Saudi Arabia and presenting a Canadian issued degree/diploma, please include a copy of your valid iqama which should include your job title and this must match your degree.

SAUDI DRIVING LICENSE
The Embassy will stamp a certified translation of your Saudi Driver's License only they cannot provide a letter or any other documentation.
1. your Saudi Driver's License must be translated by a certified translator
2. MUST be stamped FIRST by the Legal Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
3. Extra copies of all documents must be attached to your covering letter requesting the legalization.
